After much vacillation on my part, we have finally decided on a name for our newborn son ... Noah Russell Hymas. He's doing fantastic & seems to consistently exceed the doctors' expectations. So although he has a bit of a road ahead of him, we are very happy with how well he has progressed and optimistic about the upcoming days and weeks. Noah was upgraded to the nasal cannula today, so I was able to snap a few photos ...

A strong, honorable name for a valiant little soul! We are so grateful he is doing so well, and hope Tommi's progress is going the same. Thanks for the updates; you don't know how many times a day we visit this site waiting for words and looking for pictures. Give a kiss and hug to Gracie!
I love his name and I love that sweet tiny baby!! He is beautiful!
But what were you doing up at 1:21am??
Love you guys!!
I love this little guy....so much!
I love the name! It is perfect for such a beautiful baby boy. Those pictures are just too precious. I'm glad he's such a fighter! Keep up the good work! We love you!
Yay! We LOVE it! It fits perfectly especially because it means rest and comfort....Hope all is well with the little guy, and I hope Tommi continues to feel better and better each day.
Ps. I know exactly why you were still awake at 1:21 am...in the hospital there is no sense of time. Just wait till they come in at 4 in the morning and want to take his pictures!
hi Tommi & Russ, i'm one of jen's friends and a fellow contributor on her health blog. anyway, i saw on jen's blog today about the arrival of your little Noah. i have had two preemies. my last baby was also 10 weeks early weighing 3 lbs. 3 oz. very close to your little guy. i can understand some of the difficulty you have been through and are experiencing. i had a friend's friend contact me about her premature baby and it was so nice to have someone to talk to who knew what i was going through. the NICU is rough, and you feel guilt for not being able to be there for both your kids. The going back and forth, pumping, worrying, praying, being so grateful as you witness this miracle and all of those things make it a difficult journey. my son is now 4 1/2 years old and our little girl is now 16 months. they are both doing amazing. i'd love to talk if you want you can email me amberkimber@gmail.com or i could send you an invite to my blog and you can read about our journey with our little girl. hang in there! i'll be praying for you and your sweet baby.
He's the cutest little wrinkled baby I've ever seen! Love his name! Such sweet pictures! Can't believe how tiny he is!!
I remember a long time ago when we were both in the Linda Vista Ward..I came home from church one day and told Chase...."I REALLY want Tommi to get pregnant!!" You are such an amazing mother to Gracie and I just wanted you to have as many kids as your enormous heart can love. I'm so happy that you have been blessed to have a birthing story of your own. I truly believe the delivery room is the nearest place to heaven on earth (other than the temple of course). I am so thrilled you were able to feel that amazing spirt when a baby is brought into the world. I am just soooooooooooooooooooo happy for you and your family. You have worked so hard to get here and I congratulate you!!
P.S. He is adorable!!! I can't believe how sweet he is and how looking at him makes me a little misty:-)
Welcome to the world little buddy! So small and so special. You could not have chose a better family!
I still love that name...guess it was good I had a girl to give you...otherwise you might have had to find a new name. I have been so worried about all of you! Glad to hear things are doing well. Love you all. Please call if you need any packages sent your way.
oh my. he is SO precious. I am so happy he is here and I'll be thinking of you all.
Stop making me cry. My Noah's wondering what's wrong with me. God bless the Noah's...
